My family and I were recently invited to a friends house for a Halloween party. My friend lived out in the country and owned a ranch. I decided I would learn how to make sky lanterns. This would be a great item to bring to the party.

Valentines day was fast approaching, and I still had not gotten my girlfriend anything. The thing is, last year I had forgotten to get her anything, and it was real bad!

My wife and I were married 3 months ago. We were engaged for over ten years. Kind of a long engagement don’t you think? Well, we were dating and living together for quite a long time, and never really felt it was all that important.

We figured as long as we were happy, what difference did the piece of paper make. We had our ups and downs over the years, and we always ended up working through our problems. About a year ago, we got into a big argument, and we broke up for a while. The day of the wedding whizzed by, we both left work early, and went down to the city hall to make it official. It wasn’t anything all that special.

They had a trellis with rose’s decorating it, and we took a couple of pictures with me and my wife along with the rest of our small wedding party. After the photos were done we headed outside and we were going to head to a nice restaurant with our friends for small wedding dinner. As we got out to the parking lot my friend told us to wait that he had a surprise for us.

He soon returned and had these weird looking sky lanterns ufo looking things with him.
He explained to us, that they were Chinese paper sky lanterns. He lit a candle in one and this sky lantern ufo looking thing slowly rose into the sky. It was really quite beautiful, as it glowed and floated into the sunset.

It was truly a memorable moment. He had a couple more of the sky lanterns with him. My wife and I lit a few of the sky lanterns together, and watched as they slowly floated away. It was truly a great gift, my wife and I will always remember the sky lanterns and our wedding day.

We both thanked him for giving us this wonderful gift. He said that he watched a video on how to make sky lanterns. He had made them a few day’s earlier,  it was truly touching that he took the time to make these lanterns and I will never forget that. My brother was married about a month ago. It was the most beautiful wedding and celebration I had ever seen.The wedding and reception was held at the Biltmore estate. It was long drive to the lodge where we were staying at. The other thing was, I was dubbed the children’s chauffeur. A nightmare, listening to kid’s asking every ten minutes are we there yet? At any rate, We finally arrived at the lodge and it was absolutely stunning. Placed in a valley surrounded by mountains on all sides.
We had a wonderful dinner, and I sat outside with my brother in law enjoying the surroundings. The next morning was the wedding, and it was in a very old church. I was one of the grooms men in this large wedding celebration.

I remember everything that day so clearly. After the wedding we went to the wedding reception held in the Biltmore wine buildings. This was a beautiful place for the reception they had twinkle lights decorating the entire area, that was set in a large square, and the center area was an open area, perfect for dancing and such.

After an awesome prime rib dinner and all the trimmings. We all headed outside for wedding photos, in a grassy field. It was very formal for most of the shots, and then a few were taken with all the guys and girls messing around making funny faces and stuff.

The one thing I really remember, were the sky fire lantern sets they launched for the formal shots. These lanterns were truly beautiful and were just awesome as their orange glow lit up the evening sky. It was the perfect addition for this beautiful wedding celebration.

I had a family reunion at my house a while ago and thought I’d tell you about the event, and how much you guys helped make my family reunion so special. Taking on this event was pretty involved. I have family members scattered throughout the world, and contacting everyone, coordinating incoming flights and hotel accommodations was a big chore. I had to make sure everyone had a visa, and figure out just how many could attend the event. I was originally going to have the event at my house but the sheer number of people made that quite impossible. I chose to have the event at a park, that had a that had a hall that could accommodate such a large group, it was used mainly for weddings and such larger parties. Then I had to have the party catered. I also wanted a photographer for this once in a lifetime event. I also had a band to play for entertainment, and I had this great idea of having some thai fire sky lanterns that everyone could light at the very end of the event. To remind everyone that no matter where we go we in life we are all still part of a big family, and to always remember that. I figured I would have the event on a Saturday afternoon, that way everyone could get there early, while traffic wasn’t as bad. It also gave us a chance to mix and mingle, and learn more about their far away family members. The weather was perfect and everything went as planned, except for the photographer who showed up an hour late. The event was truly a great and emotional time for a lot of us. We all remembered just how short life was and we missed all of those who had passed on. It was amazing how a lot of them had grown up so fast. The whole group of people were cheering as they all went up and many of the guests complimented me on such a touching way to end the festivities. I was recently invited to a Independence Day party. The party was wonderful! We had a big dinner, and spent the day there. There was lot’s of people and tons of things to do. The evening was real special, they had fireworks and these paper sky lanterns. We all were given one. They had different colored sky lanterns to choose from.

I recently had a party for a good friend of mine who was in Iraq. It was a great party! We had a big barbecue, and a lot of his other war veteran friends came. I wanted to make the night special. I was going to use fireworks, but I thought these guys might have flash backs or something. I decided to try a different approach, I would buy sky lanterns. I recently endured the sudden death of a friend. Being that he was a childhood friend it really hit me hard. I was trying to think of something special to do to remember him. I thought of a candlelight vigil. That was an O.K. Idea. It didn’t really seem to be all that fitting, I thought of luminary’s to line around his grave, This too was a good idea, but my friend loved aviation. He did some flying but couldn’t afford the hours needed to be a pilot. He ultimately became a flight planner, working at a small airline. I decided to have the event in the back of the funeral home, and have everyone light them at the same time. I thought back to how this all came to be, and how helpful everyone was at Sky Lanterns. I decided to write you a letter thanking all of you.
